How to Switch Commercial Cleaning Companies Without Disruption

Updated: 1 day ago

Switching cleaning companies does not have to mean a rough first month. A little planning keeps your space clean through the handoff.

Check your current agreement first

Look for the notice period and any cancellation terms before you tell anyone anything. Give notice in writing and keep a copy.

Write down what went wrong

Keep a short list of the problems that made you want to switch, such as missed visits, missed areas or no one answering. A new company can build its scope around that list.

Get a written, line-by-line quote

Ask the new company to walk your space and put the scope in writing. At Covered Cleaning Services, the walkthrough is free and usually takes 20 to 30 minutes.

Plan the handoff

  • Agree on a start date that overlaps your notice period if you can

  • Set up access: keys, key cards, alarm codes and entry method

  • Share any rules for access, security and sensitive areas

  • Name one point of contact on each side

Check the first two weeks

Walk the space after the first few cleans. Report anything missed right away so it can be fixed early.
